Cashier / Cashier Assistant
Seasonal position, part-time and full-time

 

What You Will Do:

  • Greet customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Process customer purchases efficiently and accurately with a friendly attitude.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, making every interaction special by helping with product inquiries and providing recommendations.
  • Manage cash, credit, and debit card payments on the Point-of-Sale system.
  • Safely and efficiently wrap and package fragile décor or gardening items for customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Stay informed about current promotions, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform routine cleaning duties in the store to ensure a fresh and welcoming environment.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy by verifying product prices and discounts.
  • Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and store entrances to keep everything running smoothly.

Annuals Plant Sales Associate

Seasonal position, part-time and full-time from April to June 2026 (approximately).

 

What You will Do:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing a friendly and engaging shopping experience.
  • Offer advice and recommendations to our gardeners with enthusiasm and approachability.
  • Assist with product placement and restocking of annual plants throughout the Garden Centre.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Garden Centre, including watering, weeding, and sweeping.
  • Unload shipments of annual plants and ensure proper handling to maintain plant quality.
  • Create and maintain visually appealing displays to showcase products effectively.
  • Monitor the health of plant materials, reporting concerns as needed.

What You Will Bring:

  • Basic knowledge of popular annual plants and their care requirements is preferred.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing moderate lifting (e.g., plant trays, soil bags).
  • Comfortable working in a hot greenhouse environment.
  • The ability to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic team setting.

Perennials Plant Sales Associate

What You Will Do:

  • Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, assisting shoppers in selecting the right perennials for their gardens.
  • Share expert advice on plant care, growing conditions, and effective plant combinations.
  • Maintain a visually appealing and well-organized Perennial House.
  • Unload, stock, and display perennial plant shipments.
  • Water, weed, and care for plants to ensure they remain healthy and vibrant.
  • Work alongside an incredible team to create an unforgettable shopping experience.

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of perennials, including their care, growth habits, and seasonal needs.
  • A friendly, customer-focused attitude with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a warm greenhouse environment and handle physical tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Trees & Shrubs and Roses Sales Associate

Seasonal position, part-time and full-time starting in April 2026 (approximately)

 

What You Will Do:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by creating a friendly and welcoming environment, while always being enthusiastic and approachable to customers.
  • Assist customers with selecting plant material that suit their outdoor spaces and gardening needs.
  • Provide plant information for successful growing based on information provided by our customers. For example: sunny vs shady area, dry or wet area, size of area to be planted, mature size of plant material.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shopping environment for customers.
  • Water, weed, prune, and restock plant material to keep the department looking fresh and inviting.
  • Guarantee that our customers have a pleasant shopping experience and leave Greenland Garden Center satisfied with their purchases and the service they received.
  • A passion for gardening is a plus, but not required. A thirst for learning is required! We will teach you everything you need to know to be successful.

What You Will Bring:

  • Basic knowledge of plant care is a plus, but not required. We provide extensive training sessions that will give you all the plant knowledge you need to be comfortable in your sales position.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and plant knowledge to assist our customers in making their best decisions for their outdoor spaces.
  • Problem-solving skills to assist customers overcome their gardening concerns, with a positive customer-focused attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills to listen to and understand customer needs and to provide accurate information and advice.
  • Physical stamina and strength as this job requires some lifting, moving plants, and being on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced outdoor environment, in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work well in a team, coordinating with other staff to ensure a smooth, efficient operation of the tree, shrub, & rose departments.

Trees and Shrubs & Roses Labour Assistant

Seasonal position, part-time and full-time starting in April 2026 (approximately)

 

What You Will Do:

  • Help customers load their purchases into their vehicles, offering assistance with a friendly attitude.
  • Receiving and unloading plant / tree deliveries, stocking, and re-stocking the Tree, Shrub & Rose departments. Also ensuring they are placed properly and safely in the Garden Centre.
  • This position is physically demanding, and requires the individual to frequently move heavy products and engage in repetitive physical tasks, (i.e., large trees, shrubs, roses, bags of soil, etc.)
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.

What You Will Bring:

  • Physical stamina, strength, and the ability to be on your feet for the day.
  • Good organization skills to help maintain the cleanliness of the Tree, Shrub & Rose departments.
  • Ability to work well in a team, coordinating with other staff to ensure smooth, efficient operation of your department.
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a related field is an asset, but not necessary.
  • A positive, energetic attitude, with a willingness to assist wherever required.

 

Hard Goods & Garden Décor

Seasonal position, part-time and full-time

 

What You Will Do:

  • Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
  • Willingness to learn about Hard Goods products including fertilizers, garden chemicals, tools, and water features; training and support are provided to help you assist customers confidently (previous knowledge an asset).
  • Merchandising, maintenance, receiving shipments and replenishing stock
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, making every interaction memorable by helping with product inquiries and providing recommendations.
  • Safely wrap, package, and assist with customer loading of pottery, soils, water features, and outdoor décor items.
  • Stay informed about current promotions, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and clean Hard Goods displays and product areas to ensure they remain fresh, organized, and inviting for customers.
  • Retrieve and return shopping carts from outdoor and entrance areas, assisting customers with transporting soils, pottery, and other heavy Hard Goods items.
  • Assist with setup and takedown of on-site events across the property (including weddings and seasonal events), supporting preparation of spaces, movement of materials, and overall event readiness.
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy Hard Goods products, including soils, pottery, and water features (50+ lbs.).
  • Comfortable performing physically active work on your feet throughout the day.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Facility Operations Team Member

Seasonal position, part-time

 

What You Will Do:

  • Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
  • Maintenance of all outdoor areas including garden & lawn areas.
  • Inspecting all equipment on schedule and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Unload shipments of product when they arrive.
  • Co-ordinate and perform set up for special events.
  • General labor and construction tasks as required.
  • Loading bulk landscape products using a skid steer.
  • Could include being part of a delivery and planting crew.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bobcat / Skid-steer experience an asset.
  • General construction experience is an asset.
  • Excellent endurance and physical strength (can lift 50lbs minimum).
  • Must be flexible to work some evening and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of extreme weather conditions.
  • You must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Planting & Delivery Laborer

Seasonal position, part-time and full-time starting in April 2026 (approximately)

 

What You will Do:

  • Perform labor-intensive tasks including load, transport, planting trees, shoveling, and digging.
  • Carefully plant trees and shrubs in customer yards, while working efficiently as part of a planting team.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure the safe handling of trees, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by having an enthusiastic, helpful, and friendly attitude.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver and transport plants and supplies safely to customers, always adhering to safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • While experience in operating delivery vehicles is preferred, it is not required—we are happy to train the right candidate.

What You Will Bring:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience with repetitive tasks such as planting, shoveling, digging, bending, and kneeling.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be over the age of 25 to be considered a driver for the crew.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a team-player mindset.
  • An ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVER

Seasonal position, part-time

What You Will Do:

  • Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes and standards
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the beverage station and work area
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments using a POS system
  • Upsell and promote menu items and specials
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations

What You Will Bring:

  • Valid Pro-Serve certification is required
  • Previous experience in the food service or hospitality industry is preferred
