Spring Bulbs We Love!

March 5, 2023

March is prime time for planting spring bulbs, and we have a fantastic selection to choose from. Here are some of Tina and Bob’s favourites to try:

canna cleopatra

Cleopatra Canna

No two plants are alike! Foliage is a combination of medium green and burgundy, while blooms are a combination of red and yellow petals, the yellow petals often speckled with red.

Stuttgart Canna

Cold leaves are a combination of green and pure white, almost similar to hosta. The bold orange blooms add even more interest in summer.

Amandine Ranunculus

Amandine Ranunculus

This selection features tight clusters of petals on strong stems, in pastel colours of pink, white and salmon.

Reinette Ranunculus

Reinette Ranunculus

These ranunculus blooms feature bright blooms in shades of pink and orange. As the blooms unfurl, they reveal tight clusters of green petals in the center.

Anemone Lord Lieutenant

Anemone Lord Lieutenant

Layers of blue petals with a cute black button center.

Anemone The Governor

Anemone The Governor

Double layers of deep crimson petals create poppy-like blooms with a deep black button center.

Anemone Sylphide

Anemone Sylphide

Deep violet-pink petals form poppy-like blooms, with powdery black stamens in the center.

Hardy Cyclamen

Hardy Cyclamen

Unlike many of our spring bulbs, these are hardy for our area, no need to lift in the fall! Marbled, heart shaped leaves beneath pretty pink butterfly shaped blooms in late summer.

Dahlia Smokey Amethyst

Dahlia Smokey Amethyst

This blend of decorative dahlia features 4-6” blooms in contrasting shades of lilac and dark purple.

Dahlia Poodle Skirt

Dahlia Poodle Skirt

Wine coloured ‘poofs’ surrounded by arched petals that form a ‘poodle skirt’!

Dahlia Rip City

Dahlia Rip City

If you’re a Yellowstone fan, you’ll love it just for the name….but for gardeners, it’s the deep crimson blooms with the black center that will win you over.
