ANNUALS PLANT SALES ASSOCIATE
Part time and full time positions to work seasonally from April –June 2024 (approx.)
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- Offering helpful advice to both novice and experienced gardeners
- Maintaining the overall cleanliness within the greenhouses
- Unloading shipments of annual plants
- Watering, weeding, sweeping and re-stocking plant material
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of popular annuals and their cultural requirements
- Physically fit
- Able to work in, and tolerate, a hot greenhouse environment
- Moderate lifting required
CASHIER
Part time and full time positions to work seasonally starting in April 2024 (approx.).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- Process customer’s purchases accurately and efficiently
- Balance cash floats
- Keep informed on the most current promotions and advertisements
- Assisting in merchandising, displays and maintenance of the store’s cleanliness
- Answering the phone
- May be required to receive shipments, replenish stock and price markdowns

CASHIER ASSISTANT

Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility will be to assist our Cashiers in providing fast, friendly and courteous service to our valued customers.
- Other duties may include stocking product, helping unload shipments, loading vehicles, maintaining store cleanliness and so much more.

Responsibilities:

- Unloading truckloads of trees
- Product placement around the Garden Centre
- Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Garden Centre
- Assisting customers with loading purchases into vehicles

Qualifications:
- Physically fit
- Able to work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
- Some heavy lifting required
- Gardening experience/knowledge is an asset but not a requirement
TREES, SHRUBS & ROSES SALES ASSOCIATE

Responsibilities:

PERENNIALS PLANT SALES ASSOCIATE
Part time and full time positions to work seasonally starting in April 2024 (approx.).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- Offering helpful advice to all levels of gardeners
- Merchandising within the Perennial House
- Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Perennial House
- Unloading shipments of perennial plants
- Maintaining (watering, weeding, deadheading, etc.) and re-stocking plant material
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of perennials: how they grow, cultural requirements, effective combinations, etc.
- Genuine interest in learning more about perennials
- Physically fit: able to work in a fast-paced environment with some moderate lifting required
- Able to work in a hot greenhouse environment, as well as cold and wet conditions
OUTDOOR OPERATIONS
Part time positions to work seasonally starting in April 2024 (approx.).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- General labor and construction tasks as required
- Loading bulk landscape products using a Bobcat
- Could include being part of a delivery and planting crew
Qualifications:
- Bobcat/Skid-steer experience required (minimum 1 year)
- Excellent endurance and physical strength (can lift 50lbs minimum)
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of extreme weather conditions
- Knowledge of gardening and planting is an asset, but not required
HARD GOODS & OUTDOOR LIVING
Part time and full time positions to work seasonally starting in April 2024 (approx.).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude
- Willingness to learn about fertilizers, chemicals, garden tools and fountains (training provided, previous knowledge an asset)
- Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Hard Goods and Outdoor Living area
- Merchandising, displays, maintenance, receiving shipments and replenishing stock
Qualifications:
- Previous retail experience an asset
- Some moderate to heavy lifting required
- Attention to detail
DELIVERY & PLANTING
Full time positions to work seasonally starting in May 2024 (approx.).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes having an enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- General labor and construction tasks as required
- Careful manual planting of trees and shrubs in customers yards
- Working safely and efficiently as part of the planting crew
Qualifications:
- Excellent endurance and physical strength (can lift 50lbs minimum)
- Ability to perform repetitive work. Kneeling, bending, lifting, shoveling etc.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of extreme weather conditions
- Knowledge of gardening and planting is an asset, but not required
FACILITY OPERATIONS TEAM MEMBER
Full time position
Responsibilities:
- Perform general labour tasks as required and assigned
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and assist in multiple departments
- Perform general tasks related to maintenance, clean up, tool and machinery operations
- Be safety conscious and follow safety protocols and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Experience operating a skid steer required
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, work at heights, ability to go on/off equipment and up and down ladders as required
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work inside and outside in various climates
- Excellent communication, attitude and team work skills and ability to take direction, initiative and work independently
ASSISTANT MANAGER TREES & SHRUBS
Full time position
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Tree & Shrub Manager in daily operations and management of the department
- Provide positive leadership by motivating and mentoring staff
- Training, scheduling and delegating appropriate tasks to staff
- Mentor new employees on company policies, safety regulations, procedures and customer service standards
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and issues in a professional manner
- Ability to adapt and anticipate seasonal demands of the industry, including fluctuations in workload and labour needs

Branches Restaurant
ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER
Responsibilities:
• Planning and organizing the day to day functions of Branches
• Training, supervising, coordinating and scheduling activities of front end staff (servers, hosts, cashiers).
• Work to coordinate overall functions with Branches kitchen staff as required.
• Ability to foster a cohesive team within a dynamic dining environment
• Identify, develop and implement ideas for increasing efficiency, productivity and quality.
Qualifications:
• Have experienced a progressively responsible role in the leadership of a restaurant.
• Strict adherence to a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem solving skills with a strong focus on customer service.
• Flexible availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
SERVER – daytime availability required
The Server will assist the restaurant kitchen staff in providing our customers with the best possible experience by delivering top quality service and the highest level of cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
- Taking guest orders
- Processing accurate cash/receipts
- Promoting specials, describing menu items
- Running food and beverages
- Clearing and setting tables
- Opening and closing duties (tidying, sweeping, mopping etc.)
Qualifications:
- Positive, customer-focused attitude
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and time management
- As our restaurant is a licensed facility all applicants must be 18 years of age or older. ‘Pro Serve’ certification is also required (can be obtained online for a small fee).
LINE COOK
The Line Cook will assist the ‘Branches’ restaurant kitchen staff in day to day food preparation and will be essential in supporting the ongoing responsibilities of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Cooking, prepping and assembling a variety of dishes
- Washing, slicing, trimming and weighing of food to ensure quality and portion control standards
- Ensure the kitchen, work surfaces and floors are kept clean at all times
- Follow correct food, hygiene and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen experience
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently without supervision according to tight production schedules
- A sound knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and the discipline to enforce those standards
